The Ministry of Public Service chooses MTN Cameroon to support its digital transformation
Douala – MTN Cameroon, the leading company in the telecommunications sector in Cameroon, announces that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms (MINFOPRA) on 13 November 2019.
Through this Memorandum of Understanding signed by Joseph LE, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms and Hendrik KASTEEL, CEO of MTN Cameroon, MINFOPRA will rely on information and communication technologies and MTN’s expertise to improve the quality of service provided to the thousands of civil servants who request the services of this Ministry in the ten regions of Cameroon.
More concretely, digital solutions will be developed to provide simple, fast and secure means of obtaining information needed by civil servants and all users. The technologies and expertise provided by MTN will allow for the automatic processing of online claims to decongest Ministries, improve the information and alert system to better inform users, avoid queues and possible displacements by civil servants from their regions to the political capital of the country. “The improvement and satisfaction of users who seek services from the Ministry that I head is an absolute priority. The solutions offered by digital technology are an opportunity to be seized to achieve this goal. We, therefore, hope that this partnership with MTN Cameroon will enable us to meet our objectives of efficiency, cost reduction and above all satisfaction of civil servants,” said Mr. Joseph LE, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms.
This is, therefore, a huge challenge for the telecommunications leader in Cameroon. “The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding is also an opportunity and an honor. An opportunity to demonstrate the know-how of our experts and the quality of our technologies. And it is an honor to benefit the renewed confidence of the Cameroonian Government that we have been supporting for some years now in the digital transformation necessary for the emergence of a viable digital economy in Cameroon,” said Hendrik KASTEEL, CEO of MTN Cameroon.
Several institutions benefit MTN’s simple, accessible, secure and innovative solutions to better communicate, collaborate, protect data, manage payments… These services are available to small and medium-sized companies, public and private sector-based companies as well as government and non-governmental institutions through the MTN Business Department.
