What is HOSPICARE? What is HOSPICARE?

HospiCare by MoMo is a digital insurance product for Mobile Money Corporation (MMC) customers and insures you against the financial consequences of death or hospitalization.
Your insurance coverage will include MyLife and My Hospital benefits.

What are the conditions for enrolling in HOSPICARE? What are the conditions for enrolling in HOSPICARE?
  • The insured must be Cameroonian, reside in Cameroon, and be a natural person.
  • Must be an active subscriber to the Mobile Money network.
  • Be between 18 and 65 years old.
  • Only one phone number is allowed per insured person at the time of subscription.

  • Choose option 1. Buy the product
  • Choose option 1 or 2, depending on whether you are assisted by an agent or not
  • Enter the agent’s phone number if you are assisted by an agent
  • Accept the terms and conditions
  • Enter the name of your beneficiary
  • Enter the beneficiary’s contact details
  • Choose your insurance option (HospiCare 1 month, 6 months, 1 year)
  • Choose your premium (e.g., 500 CFA for HospiCare Monthly)
  • Validate the payment
  • Receive the confirmation message

The subscriber will review the general conditions of HospiCare to accept them during registration. Available on the MTN and SanlamAllianz websites

It can be renewed manually or automatically:

  • Dial *294#
  • Choose option 2. Payment mode
  • Choose option 1. Automatic Payment as the subscription method
  • Enter your MoMo PIN

The subscription is validated, and you will be automatically debited for the insurance premium at each contract renewal.

  • The insured benefits from coverage for at least 30 days..
  • Hospitals covered: public, semi-public, private hospitals approved by the state.
  • Hospital benefit – if the subscriber spends at least 1 night in hospital due to trauma (accident, injury), his/her coverage will be paid to his/her MTN MoMo account.
  • Hospital benefit – if the subscriber spends at least 2 nights in hospital due to an illness, his/her coverage will be paid to his/her MTN MoMo account.
  • A Lifetime Benefit: In case of the sudden death of the policyholder, the coverage will be paid to the beneficiary
How to report claims How to report claims

• Claims (life, hospitalization) related to your coverage can be filed directly from your mobile phone.
• Your beneficiary can file the claim on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
• Claims must be filed within 30 days following the occurrence of the event. For Example, if the event occurred on January 1, 2025, the claim must be filed by January 31, 2025.

• Required Documents for Hospitalization: Insured’s mobile phone number; Date of admission and discharge from the hospital; Number of nights spent; Mention the cause of the illness
• Required Documents for Death: Deceased insured’s mobile phone number; Date of death ; Death certificate ; Cause of death.

What is the reimbursement process? What is the reimbursement process?
  • A SMS will be sent to you requesting copies of the necessary documents once you initiate a claim. This SMS will include your claim number and a WhatsApp number to which you can send your documents.
  • The requested documentation can be sent via WhatsApp to the number provided in the SMS. • Documents can be sent from any WhatsApp number, not necessarily from the insured’s number
  • SMS notifications regarding the outcome of your claim.

  • After the claim is reported, if all information is correct, SanlamAllianz Vie will do its best to make the payment within a maximum of 48 or 72 hours

  • Maximum of 3 hospitalization reimbursement requests (over a 12-month period).
  • The client can only make one claim within 30 days.
  • Only one life insurance claim can be filed for a given insured person

  •  Choose the subscription plan and option you wish to cancel and follow the next steps
  • If you are sure you want to cancel your insurance, select option 1 for Yes, and your policy will be canceled

Effective immediately :

  • You will be unsubscribed from HospiCare.
  • Your profile will be deleted.
  • You will no longer have any coverage.

If you cancel your policy within 30 days of your initial registration with HospiCare, you will receive a refund of your premiums minus any incurred fees.

For any claim, the customer must contact the customer service number provided by MTN or SanlamAllianz Vie.
