2016 – Compassion in Action : MTN assists Eseka train victims
27/12/25
Also in March 2016, MTN Cameroon took a bold and unprecedented decision in favour of women. Maternity leave is now 4.5 months, with an additional 6 weeks fully paid by the company. This decision reflects a vision : that of a company convinced that taking care of its employees also means taking care of their families and their well-being. A gesture worthy of its status as an employer of choice.
MTN Foundation assists victims of the Eseka train derailment
MTN could not remain silent in the face of the tragedy that occurred in Eseka on 21 October 2016. Through its Foundation, it donated a large batch of medicines to the Ministry of Public Health to help treat the victims of the derailment. These medicines were intended for the rescue teams deployed to assist those injured in the Eseka tragedy. More than 500 people required emergency assistance. Faced with such circumstances, MTN felt a duty of solidarity. Hence this modest contribution, aimed on the one hand at strengthening the emergency response system and on the other at helping to relieve the victims of this accident.
