Subscriber Identification Module ( SIM) card is an integrated device that helps to identify and aud authenticate a customer as a unique mobile device owner
How to get a sim card?
For your convenience, you can purchase an MTN SIM card at any of our physical touchpoints, including:

- Our MTN branded stores

Type of Sim
SIM card currently available can be of different sizes:
- Nano SIM
- Micro SIM
- Mini SIM
Additionally, we also offer E-SIM for compatible devices, providing a more convenient and digital way to use your mobile network without a physical SIM card.
Number of SIM card per customer
As an MTN subscriber, you are allowed to have:
- Up to 3 SIM cards under your name.
- If you wish to have more than 3 SIM cards, you will need to obtain authorization from the ART
Sim Card Usage
With your MTN SIM card, you can enjoy a wide range of services, including:
- Making calls to stay connected with friends, family, and colleagues
- Browsing the internet with fast and reliable mobile data
- Sending and receiving text messages to communicate anytime
- Carrying out Momo transactions for easy mobile money transfers and payments

What to Do If Your SIM Card is Lost or Stolen
If your SIM card is lost or stolen, please follow these steps:

Contact Customer Service immediately via:
- Hotline 8787
- Social Media Channels ( MTN Cameroon)

Request to Block Your SIM Card to prevent unauthorized use.

Verify Your Identity for security purposes.

Request a Replacement SIM if necessary.
How to Refill Your SIM Card
You can refill your SIM card using the following methods:

Using a Voucher with Code:
- Dial 156 followed by the digits on the card, then press # to add credit to your SIM.

Via Mobile Money (Momo):
- Dial *126#, select option “3” for recharging, then choose “1” to proceed with the refill.

Receive Airtime from a Third Party:
- You can also receive airtime from a friend or family member by having them transfer credit to your number.
How to Recover Your Phone Number After Losing Your SIM Card
If your SIM card is missing or stolen, you can recover your phone number by following these steps:

Visit a Service Center for a SIM Swap to restore your number.

Bring a Valid Identity Document for verification. Accepted documents include:
- Passport
- National Identity Card
- Driving License
- Professional Card (for defense and security forces)
- Refugee Card
- Residence Permit
Once verified, your SIM card will be swapped, and you can regain access to your phone number.
Automatic Restrictions on Inactive SIM Cards
If a SIM card is not used for an extended period, automatic restrictions may apply:

After 1 Month of Inactivity:
- Automatic activation of call transmission restrictions will occur.

After 6 Months of Inactivity:
- Automatic activation of both call making and call receiving restrictions will be applied.
To avoid these restrictions, be sure to use your SIM card regularly.
Keeping my number for life
To avoid your number from being recycled, dial *123*99#.
How does it work?
- Cost: The service costs 5000F.
- Validity: The service is valid for 1 year and can be renewed.
