What is MTN Home?
MTN Home is a service launched by MTN to allow customers to be connected at home with high internet quality. MTN Home has mainly two offers:
- MTN Home standard bundles
- MTN NoLimit Bundles
What are MTN Home specificities?
Home service has several specificities either you are prepaid or Postpaid.
1- For Prepaid customers, we have
- Home No Limit (TDD)
- Home Classic
2- For Postpaid Customers, we have dedicated to small and medium enterprises
- Postpaid Business (Business No Limit)
- Home Postpaid Individual (Pro No Limit)
What are elements to provide by customer for a good MTN HOME registration?
- An active MTN number that will be used as the MTN HOME account number
- An email address
- 01 or 02 alternate numbers that will receive all notifications related to MTN HOME of the provided account and manage the offer
What is Home registration process?
The registration is free and is done when the customer pays for the first month of subscription.
After the registration, the customer must follow the steps below to get his MTN HOME account and first month of subscription activated:
- Insert the SIM card linked to the MTN HOME account number in the device on which he wants to use MTN HOME offers
- Ensure that the device is ON and at home (or at the location where he wants to use MTN HOME offers)
- Dial *202*ACCOUNT_NUMBER# from any device and any MTN number
- Enter 1 to confirm
In case customer pays for many months of subscription, the offer will be automatically activated to the customer at the end of previous subscription without any additional fees or action.
How to check the status of activated MTN HOME offers?
The customer can check the status of activated MTN HOME offers via self-service on USSD by following below steps:
- Dial *202*99# from any device and any MTN number
- Enter or select MTN HOME account number that has the offer
- Select an offer to see the status (Balance, expiry date, etc.)
Is it possible to subscribe to many MTN HOME offers?
Yes, a customer can subscribe to many MTN HOME offers as he wants. Each offer will have its own lifecycle
Is it possible to subscribe to the same MTN HOME offer many times?
Yes, a customer can subscribe to the same MTN HOME offer as many as he wants. The extension will be made as follows:
- For Once-Off bundles: data volume added to the remaining, voice bonus added to the remaining, expiry date reset to 30 days from the subscription date
- For Daily-Capped bundles: daily data volume unchanged, voice bonus added to the remaining, expiry date extended by 30 days from old one
Is it possible to use MTN HOME offers everywhere?
No, MTN HOME offers must be used only in the customer location (house)
What if the customer changes location or wants to use MTN HOME offers in another location?
To use MTN HOME offers in another location, customers must:
- Go to a service center to reset the location setting
- Call the Geek Squad team available on call at 8400 to reset the location setting
By doing this, customers will be able to use ‘MTN HOME offers’’ ONLY in the new location
Is it possible to use MTN HOME with any device?
No, MTN HOME offers must be used only with a single device: the device that is linked to the MTN HOME account number at the activation
What if the customer wants to use MTN HOME offers with another device?
To use MTN HOME offers with a device other than the one linked to the MTN HOME account number at the activation, the customer must:
- Go to a service center to reset the device setting
- Call the Geek Squad team available on call at 8400 to reset the device setting
By doing this, customers will be able to use MTN HOME offers ONLY with the new device
How are MTN HOME offers charged?
MTN HOME offers are charged:
- By interval of 10KB for Internet
- By interval of 1 second for voice bonus
For MTN HOME offers with throttling option (see the above table), the customer can continue browsing for free at 256Kpbs when the main Internet volume is exhausted.
How to update MTN HOME registration details (alternate numbers or email address)?
To update MTN HOME account details, the customer must:
- Go to a service center
- Call the Geek Squad team available on call at 8400
How to activate the automatic renewal of MTN HOME offers?
The customer can activate the automatic renewal of MTN HOME offers via self-service on USSD by following below steps:
- Dial *202*100# from any device and any MTN number
- Enter 1 (Activate)
- Enter or select MTN HOME account number on which the action will be performed
- Select the offer
- Enter 1 to confirm
At the renewal time, it is the number from which the request has been made that will be charged and the offer will be activated to the selected MTN HOME account.
The customer will be reminded of the number on which the request has been made 48 hours prior to the renewal.
How to deactivate the automatic renewal of MTN HOME offers?
Customers can deactivate the automatic renewal of MTN HOME offers via self-service on USSD by following below steps:
- Dial *202*100# from any device and any MTN number
- Enter 2 (Deactivate)
- Enter or select MTN HOME account number on which the action will be performed
- Select the offer
- Enter 1 to confirm
Can the customer buy and use other existing bundles (Mobile Surf, Giga Surf, Wanda Net, etc.) on MTN HOME account number?
Yes, the customer can continue using the existing bundles without any issue or restriction
How will the charging be done if the customer has an existing bundle and an MTN HOME offer?
Priority will be given to the offer or bundle that expires first
