Subscribers are delighted to win and are satisfied to be able to communicate in absolute tranquillity thanks to the unbeatable MTN and its Indomitable Network. The memorable #unbeatable campaign will be launched in April 2021 to highlight the performance of MTN’s technical infrastructure in Cameroon.

These achievements will earn the leader the Prize of Excellence in May 2021, recognition by the public authorities of MTN’s significant contribution to the country’s development since it launched its operations in February 2000. A call to contribute even more. And an appeal well received by MTN Cameroon, the technology of which will adopt the wheel of road safety as part of the YM@NE project, result of a tripartite collaboration with the company, Camtrack and Ministry of Transport. The project equips buses with surveillance cameras, detects risky behaviour and saves lives.

Initiatives enough to end the year with new trophies. In November 2021, MTN Cameroon will shine at the Corporate Awards event, winning three awards ahead of its competitors: Best Customer Service, Best Employer and Best Corporate Social Responsibility.

Cameroon will then welcome a delegation from the MTN Group, led by Ralph Mupita, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, in February 2022. In addition to meeting with staff and authorities, he will be the special guest of the President of the Confederation of African Football at the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be played in Yaoundé. This will also be an opportunity to sign a new agreement with the Cameroon Football Federation, marking MTN’s return to sponsoring the MTN Elite 1&2 professional championships.

After football, the entrepreneurial ecosystem will also be in the spotlight with the unveiling of the MTN Fusion platform. This is a partnership programme between MTN Cameroon and businesses to accelerate their development and digitalisation.

On the acceleration agenda is the energy transition. MTN is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through initiatives such as powering its sites with renewable energy. Within this framework, the company will sign a historic agreement with the Rural Electrification Agency on 2 June 2022. The aim is to power MTN’s relay stations in rural areas with solar energy.

This is also the year of the return of 21 Days of Y’ello Care. In June 2022, MTN volunteers will be deployed across the country, with a special stop on the banks of the Sanaga River in Marienberg. They will train hundreds of young people in basic digital skills and equip them with the necessary tools.

This is also the period during which MTN Cameroon’s new customer experience centre model, dubbed MTN Touch, will be launched. The first of its kind, located within the PlaYce shopping centre in Yaoundé will be inaugurated in July 2022.

The final of the first edition of the MoMo Hackathon competition will take place in September 2022, with victory going to Miya, a start-up specialised in fundraising.

With one victory leading to the other, MTN Cameroon will return to the forefront during the Y’ello Care Awards in October 2022, thanks to its social commitment. On this occasion, the company will receive three awards: Value Award – Leadership, Value Award – Can Do and Y’ello Care Regional Award – West & Central Africa.

The year will end with the finalising in December 2022 of the partnership between MTN Cameroon and Camtel on national roaming. Thanks to this initiative, Camtel subscribers can switch to the MTN network in Cameroon and continue to communicate wherever their mobile network is unavailable.
