MTN Cameroon is supporting young women entrepreneurs in the North Region within the context of the work visit carried out this week by Mrs. Mitwa Ng’ambi, CEO of MTN Cameroon, in the city of Garoua,

This support is concretized through a series of activities in the city of Garoua including a Digital Marketing Training Workshop on 15 and 16 March 2023 at the Vocational Training Centre of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and the Family in the North Region. The said training is delivered to about a hundred young women including learners of the Centre, and a selection of disadvantaged girls recommended by the social services of the North Region and Lamidat of Garoua.

The 10 most deserving young women at the end of the training workshop will each receive from MTN Cameroon a financial support worth 500,000 CFA francs which will enable them to equip themselves, become self-employed and gain autonomy to better succeed in their various projects.

The series of activities will culminate in a conference with the CEO of MTN Cameroon as the main guest. In the course of the deliberations, Mitwa Ng’ambi will share with an audience of more than 200 young women, her experience as a woman leader that propelled her to the head of the leading telecommunications company in Cameroon.

These initiatives in favour of young women entrepreneurs in the North Region are part of the month marked by the celebration of the rights of the woman. This also concretizes the commitment made by Mitwa in favour of the education of the girl child during her work visit to the Northern regions in November 2022.

“Today, the connected world we are aiming for offers us many more opportunities. Young women, wherever they are, need to know this and above all benefit from it. Perhaps the journey I have accomplished so far can inspire them to realise their dreams and become the leaders of tomorrow,” said Mitwa.
