The Chairman of the Board of Directors of MTN Cameroon, Mr. Colin E. MUKETE, on behalf of the Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Stephen Blewett as the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon, effective 1 August 2020.

The new Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for consolidating MTN’s achievements in the Cameroonian market, strengthening the company’s leadership, maintaining a framework for peaceful dialogue with public and private stakeholders, and working towards greater satisfaction of MTN Cameroon’s millions of customers.

Stephen Blewett has a degree in Commerce from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa and is a seasoned executive with nearly 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry where he has held senior positions in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Benin, and for operators such as Telkom Mobile, MCell, MTC as well as MTN.

Stephen Blewett served as Chief Executive Officer of MTN Benin for the past five years (2015-2020). A period during which MTN Benin experienced a double-digit growth rate in several segments, despite the economic climate. This performance earned Stephen numerous awards, including Best Chief Executive Officer in Benin in 2019, all sectors combined, and Best Chief Executive Officer of all the MTN Group subsidiaries in 2020.
