The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon, Mitwa Ng’ambi and her delegation, during her work visit to the Northern part of the country, from 2 to 5 November 2022, made stopovers in Balai in the North Region and Midjivin in the Far North Region.
They interacted with the traditional authorities and population of these two villages, which have in common, the hosting of innovative and environmentally friendly telecommunications infrastructures. Antennas which are solar-powered and do not pollute the community with noise and greenhouse gases from generators. The company has already deployed more than 260 of such antennas in the 10 regions of the country and plans to continue deploying more.
These sites bring communication services closer to rural communities, accelerate digital and financial inclusion and, above all, reduce greenhouse gas emissions while enabling to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 to better preserve the Planet.
