A delegation of officials visited MTN Cameroon’s installations in Douala on 25 October 2022. The group comprised representatives of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board (TRB) and Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (Minpostel).

The visit was divided into three stages. First, the discovery of the Operations Centre and its ultramodern monitoring room. Here, the visitors were able to observe through several screens MTN Cameroon’s monitoring system in real time on the state of its network and quality of service provided to millions of customers across the 10 regions of the country.

Thereafter, the Datacentre, state-of-the-art space with storage capacities that guarantee the backup and redundancy necessary for permanent availability of the data and services requested. The visitors were able to note the special measures taken by MTN Cameroon to ensure constant supply of electrical energy in all circumstances.

On this site, we have just some of our software and hardware equipment. As you know, we provide our communication services to the population of the 10 regions of Cameroon. Our teams monitor and anticipate thanks to the modernity of our equipment. At the same time, we continue our expansion while strengthening security and integrating the latest technologies,” explained Reuben Opata, Chief Technology and Information Officer of MTN Cameroon.

Finally, there was a work session at MTN Cameroon’s head office between the delegation and Executive Committee of the leading operator. During the deliberations, MTN was able to elaborate on its sustainable commitment to Cameroon through investments already realized and those to come in a bid to constantly enhance our infrastructure and consequently the quality of service.

The work session ended with unanimous satisfaction from the representatives of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and Telecommunications Regulatory Board, who all hailed the quality of MTN Cameroon’s technical platform and called on the operator to continue investing to improve the quality of service.

MTN Cameroon is also satisfied with the willingness of the authorities to listen and provide their multiform support. “It is important for us to reassure the Cameroonian Government and our partners, notably customers. Hence, the initiative of inviting them to live the reality of our commitment to constantly improve the quality of service provided to our customers. This commitment is reflected in the significant investments we have already realized and those to come. This commitment is also visible through the state-of-the-art equipment we operate, professionalism and determination of our employees as well as trust of the population that ensure our undisputed leadership in Cameroon,” commented Mitwa Ng’ambi, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon.
